Despite limited opportunities for girls in her village, she completed her 12th standard, showing determination and a commitment to personal growth.

Skills and Craftsmanship

Urmila’s Craftsmanship:

Urmila’s journey into Wall Art began when she joined the TAC Center in Kansingh ki Seed. The center provided structured training, mentorship, and guidance, helping her transform her innate creativity into professional skills.

She learned to combine traditional art forms with modern techniques, creating intricate patterns, vibrant colors, and meaningful motifs. Her work reflects both her cultural heritage and personal artistic expression.

Her craftsmanship is marked by attention to detail, precision, and imagination, allowing her to turn creativity into a sustainable livelihood while contributing to her family and building confidence.

Inspiration

Urmila draws inspiration from her family’s hard work, especially her father’s shop management and her mother’s dedication to household and farm duties.

She is also motivated by the women artisans at TAC, whose dedication, creativity, and ability to earn a livelihood have shown her the possibilities of her own potential. The supportive environment nurtured her self-belief, encouraging her to dream bigger and pursue excellence.

Personal Journey

Before TAC, Urmila’s life revolved around school, household work, and helping her family in the shop and farm. Though she had creative potential, opportunities to develop it professionally were scarce.

Joining TAC became a turning point. Initially hesitant, she embraced the training, experimented with colors, designs, and patterns, and gained confidence with every completed project.

Today, Urmila balances education, creative work, and family responsibilities. Her journey demonstrates resilience, hope, and transformation, showing how mentorship and structured opportunities empower rural women to redefine their futures.

  • Personal Impact: Gains confidence, leadership skills, and pride in her achievements; mentors newer learners at TAC.

  • Generational Impact: Serves as a role model for siblings and other village girls, inspiring education, skill development, and empowerment.

Her story exemplifies how structured training and mentorship can create opportunities not only for an individual but also for their family and community.
