Background
Anchi Kanwar, a 17-year-old from Naya Gaon, completed her education up to the 8th grade but had to discontinue her studies due to family responsibilities. She is the fifth child in a household with four sisters and two brothers. Despite facing challenges from an early age, Anchi has remained determined to support her family and seize new learning opportunities.
Association with TAC Livelihoods Project
For the past 1.5 years, Anchi has been actively associated with the TAC Livelihoods Project. The initiative has provided her with a platform to:
- Learn new skills
- Express creativity
- Gain hands-on experience
She is currently involved in Wall Art production and contributes to real-time order work.

Skills & Learning Outcomes

- Learn Wall Art techniques including chain stitch, pasting, ironing, and color coordination
- Work on production orders and gain practical experience
- Build self-confidence and teamwork through peer learning
- Understand financial literacy and the importance of saving
Personal Reflection
During training sessions, Anchi often shares her experiences and motivates others. She says:
“Even though I had to leave school, I learn something new every day. I feel happy when I can support my family and help my friends learn new skills.”
Through consistent practice and expert guidance, Anchi has improved her precision and skill. She now contributes to her family’s income while creating new opportunities within her community.
Future Aspirations
Along with working at the center, Anchi aspires to continue her education so she can better understand business processes and expand her opportunities. She dreams of opening pathways for other girls in her village to learn, grow, and achieve independence.
